Michael Ireland started in the ceiling
business in 1968, fresh from four
years of service in the Air Force
Strategic Air Command. His first
project was San Francisco's first
true skyscraper, the Bank of
America building. Mike joined
Carlos Interior Systems in 1974 and
became a partner by the following
year. Mike bought the business in
1989, and Ireland Interior Systems,
Inc. was born.
Today, Ireland Interior Systems is
well-known as one of the bay area's
premiere acoustical ceiling
contractors. Areas of expertise
include suspended wood, metal and
acoustical ceilings. Recently, the
business was expanded to include
manufacture and installation of
fabric-wrapped wall panels. While
the firm's most prestigious project
to date has been the DeYoung
Museum, many of the area's largest
and most detailed projects have
utilized the skills of Ireland Interior
Systems. The company boasts three
estimators with over 80 years of
experience between them, and staff
of 50 to 70 at any given time.
